Scenarios--our services can enhance any type of high-end private catered event

Scenario #1: Political fundraiser

You’re an event planner and your client is having a political fund-raiser for 1000 of her strongest supporters. She wants to do something that is unique and that will leave a lasting and positive impression on her guests. Through you, she hires flow to have five wine bars set up throughout the venue. Each Wine Bar by flow features five different wines. A guest walks up to one of the wine bars and is handed a glass with about one ounce of the first wine to taste. The wine-tender gives a brief description of the wine’s taste characteristics, where it’s produced, and other interesting facts about the wine while the guest tastes the wine. The guest likes the wine and asks a couple of questions about it while the wine-tender pours a taste of the next wine. The guest tastes all of the wines at the tasting bar and decides to have a serving of the one he likes the best. Then he decides to go to the next wine bar and taste those wines. While there, he starts discussing the wines with another guest. Soon they’re tasting and talking and getting to know the wines and each other. A whole crowd has gathered around the wine bar, and everybody’s talking and interacting and having fun.

Scenario #2: Wedding Reception

You’re a caterer and your client is newly engaged and wants to have her dream wedding. Her father is obliging her by agreeing to pay up to $75,000 for her wedding reception. She has chosen you to be the caterer because you come highly recommended and because you were able to offer her something completely innovative and extraordinary—a Wine Bar by flow. The client doesn’t know much about wine, but she knows that every first-class event must feature the best food and the best wine. flow sets up a tasting bar next to each of the three interactive food stations. Each station features one cuisine from the bride or groom’s geographic heritage: India, the Caribbean and Cuba; the wines were carefully chosen to complement these diverse cuisines. The Indian station features made-to-order curries and traditional Indian accompaniments and sides such as chutneys, samosas, palak paneer, puri, nan and raita. The wines for this cuisine include a dry Gewurztraminer from Alsace and a Riesling Spatlese from the Rheingau. The other two stations and tasting bars feature equally enticing and alluring food and wines. The 175 guests, many of which have never met one another, are soon tasting and eating and talking and having the times of their lives. The bride and groom leave for their honeymoon after the reception, happy in the knowledge that this most important day in their lives was a day unlike any other for their guests as well.

Scenario #3: Charity Gala

You’re an event planner and your client is a major charitable foundation. You are planning the charity’s annual fund-raising gala for the fifth year in a row. The client has challenged you to come up with something completely fresh, new and exciting to add to the gala, something that will bring in new donors and that will entice current donors to come to the event and give their support once again. You know exactly what to do: you call flow to design an experience unlike any other ever presented at a charity gala. flow has four different wine bars with 6 different wines at each bar. And instead of the usual round tables that seat 10 set up banquet style, the event is designed around “small plates” and active food stations in four different “rooms” within the venue. Each “room” has its own Wine Bar by flow sm, an active food station with a chef preparing “small plates” to sample with the wines, a seating area, a dance floor and live music. The guests flow from room to room because they’re afraid they’ll miss something. They mingle like they never have before at such a gala, because they’re not stuck at one table for the whole night. The guests have a memorable, enjoyable evening, and your client is delighted with the event, especially since the gala broke all of the fund-raising records for the charitable foundation by a wide margin.

Scenario #4: Corporate Holiday Party

You’re the chairperson of the social events committee at your Fortune 500 firm’s Washington headquarters. You’re also the Director of Human Resources and your resources are stretched thin. Luckily, you had a chance to attend the DC Chapter International Special Events Society (ISES) Expo last month, where you talked with lots of exhibitors. These included a caterer that really impressed you, and a company called For Love Of Wine (flow) that provides great services for events such as the company’s holiday party, which is your responsibility this year. You contact the caterer and the caterer takes care of everything, including the food, décor, entertainment and the venue. The caterer also works with flow to create the most entertaining, innovative, extraordinary and interactive holiday party your company has ever had. Thanks to the caterer and flow, you are the “hero” that came in under budget and still managed to put together a most memorable event.
